BioCeraMAX 1600 is a unique element designed for biological filtration of water in freshwater and marine aquariums, paludariums, aquaterrariums and terrarium pools. It has the form of balls made of fine-pore sintered glass providing an exceptionally large filtration surface - 1600 m2.

How does BioCeraMAX 1200 work?
On the inner surface of the pores of the BioCeraMAX 1200 cylinders placed in the aquarium filter, strains of beneficial nitrifying bacteria of the Nitrosomonas and Nitrospira genera settle over time. These microorganisms use metabolic products that are toxic to fish in their life processes: ammonia (Nitrosomonas) and nitrites (Nitrospira). Nitrifying bacteria oxidize ammonia and nitrites to form nitrates, which are much safer for aquarium inhabitants.

Where and when is BioCeraMAX 1200 tested?
BioCeraMAX 1200 works perfectly as a filter bed in canister filters, overflow filters, sumps, filter chimneys. It can be successfully used in both freshwater and marine aquariums. It is especially recommended for tanks with large fish and with a large number of fish.

How to use BioCeraMAX 1200?
BioCeraMAX 1200 is ready to use immediately and does not require rinsing or any other additional activities. The contents of the package should be poured into the filter basket or filter chamber. In order to ensure optimal results, it is recommended to place the BioCeraMAX 1200 insert behind the mechanical filtration inserts and before the chemical filtration inserts.

We recommend one package, i.e. 1 liter of BioCeraMAX 1200 for AQUAEL filters: UNIMAX 150, UNIMAX 250, MIDIKANI, MINIKANI 80 and MINIKANI 120. In the case of other filters, one package of BioCeraMAX 1200 is recommended for an aquarium with a capacity of approx. 250 l.

How long does BioCeraMAX 1200 work?
The BioCeraMAX 1200 cartridge can be used for a very long time without replacement, but it is subject to slow, gradual wear due to crumbling, which reduces its effectiveness. To ensure optimal effect, it is recommended to replace about 1/3 of the cartridge with a new one every 6-12 months. When cleaning the filter, the cartridge should be rinsed in water drained from the aquarium.
The BioCeraMAX 1200 insert should not be washed in running tap water to avoid sterilisation.
